CONTEST: New logo for Museo della Valle

The Polli Stoppani Foundation is promoting an ideas competition to design a new logo for the Zogno Valley Museum.

The logo should convey the values and purposes of the Polli Stoppani Foundation:

  • the protection, promotion and enhancement of things of artistic and historical interest;
  • the collection of objects concerning the uses, customs and folk traditions of Bergamo and the Bergamo area, with particular reference to the Brembana Valley;
  • the organization and promotion of cultural and artistic events, conferences, study seminars, research projects, exhibitions, publishing activities and anything else that may contribute to an adequate treatment and dissemination of local culture.

The Museum was founded by Vittorio Polli, an enlightened entrepreneur of the Manifattura della Valle Brembana, who in 1968 decided to donate his birth house as a sign of gratitude and gratitude to the area that had brought so much fortune to his business, to make it a museum of arts, crafts and folk traditions. Together with a group of volunteers he began a long work that lasted more than 10 years to restore and adapt the property, acquire, clean and restore the objects and finally exhibit them. Today the structure of the Valley Museum has remained the same as the house, the rooms house the exhibition halls, and with the same welcoming spirit reserved for a guest, we await visitors who would like to discover this place and its history.

The goal of the Valley Museum is to show the skills and experience of the people of the past. II Museum was created with the idea of disseminating and handing down the customs, traditions and crafts of a specific region (Zogno and the Brembana Valley) and its people. In order to understand the value and meaning of these objects, one must link them to the soul of a man: the one who built them, the one who handled them, or the one who has preserved them over time, an unwitting custodian of relics. In this way they will be alive again and we can learn about the difficulties and labors of past lives and how man used his ingenuity and creativity to deal with them.

Participation in the contest is open to students from high schools in the province of Bergamo.

The winner of the competition will be awarded a prize of €1,000 in vouchers for equipment, courses, materials, to be agreed upon with the winner.

Contestants must submit their entries by noon on May 31, 2023.
